Recticel wins Belgian Award for Best Sustainability Report 2024

Recticel Group, 19.11.2025

Recticel’s achievements in sustainability reporting were recognised yesterday at the Belgian Awards for Sustainability Reports (BAS) ceremony, where the company won the award for the Best Sustainability Report in the category ‘Organisation in the scope of the CSRD in 2024’.

The BAS initiative is organised by the Belgian Institute of Registered Auditors (IBR-IRE). Since 1998, it has been encouraging organisations to integrate transparent sustainability information in their annual reports and rewarding the best examples in Belgium. The winners are selected by an objective jury of representatives from public entities as well as the academic and economic sectors.

In 2025, with the CSRD bringing in reinforced reporting obligations, the BAS initiative is more relevant than ever. Recticel is particularly proud to have won the award against  the background of the new directive’s rigorous standards. The accolade follows a long period of preparation by the Group, which began aligning proactively with the CSRD in its 2023 Annual Report. This paved the way for much more elaborate ESG reporting in the 2024 report, ‘Leading the way in future-smart insulation’.

Recticel’s Annual Report structure sets the Group’s strategic and operational objectives, targets, management approach and KPIs within the context of a clear business model. It illustrates how every aspect of value creation, including ESG commitments, contributes to the Group’s overall purpose. As Werner Van Peteghem, Sustainability & Communications Director, explains:

“For us, sustainability reporting is much more than an obligation. It is a way of taking responsibility and building trust. This award reflects the central role of sustainability and ESG in everything we do – from our daily operations to the innovative insulation solutions we offer. In this way, we create real value for our customers, partners and investors.”

With sustainability firmly embedded in its organisation, Recticel is keen to emphasise the wider benefits for any company starting out on a similar path.

“Of course, the whole process is an investment in terms of time, resources and collaboration, but it pays off. A good sustainability policy and reporting process will help you use energy and raw materials more efficiently, which will ultimately yield not only ecological but also economic benefits.”

Recticel Group sincerely thanks everyone who collaborated on the report and who has contributed to the company’s sustainability ambitions.
